Boulgarophygon

Boulgarophygon
   Site of Symeon of Bulgaria's (q.v.) major victory over a Byzantine army in 896, made possible by Symeon's previous defeat of the Hungarian troops allied with Byzantium (q.v.). The peace that resulted was contingent on Byzantium paying an annual tribute to Symeon.
